As with the provenance of a well-loved antique, the Antiques & Collectibles National Association (ACNA) evolved into its current form over time and through necessity. This organization is the result of the merging of several others—Antiques & Collectibles Dealers Association, National Association of Collectors, National Association of Antique Malls, and The Antique & Collectibles Show Promoter Association. The old adage, “There is strength through numbers...” is perfectly exemplified with the merging of these various associations into ACNA. When Jim and Yvonne Tucker founded the Antiques & Collectibles Dealers Association in 1991, they were motivated by the need for insurance and organization to address and protect individuals engaged in this industry.
